The "Online Sources for Musicology" (Internet-Ressourcen zur Musikwissenschaft) contains scholarly online sources that are relevant to all realms of musicology. You can find university departments as well as websites for projects and data bases. In addition to university, library and numerous research facility homepages, we have included relevant private online sources as well. Furthermore, you can access free texts (mostly in PDF format).
The “Handwörterbuch der musikalischen Terminologie (HmT)” is a finished project of the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz. Edited first by Hans Heinrich Eggebrecht, later by Albrecht Riethmüller, it was published by Franz Steiner Verlag (Stuttgart). It discusses in detailed monographs the origin and meaning of musical terms. The digitization and online presentation of the HmT has been generously granted by the Franz Steiner Verlag.
